Not to mention BBQ's. We just are so thankful that they are not only clients but also friends! Check back next month to see waterfalls pictures with Ashleigh's side of the family!

Wedding minus the wedding . . .

Bear with me folks, this is going to be a long one :O)

Today was a very special day for me. But to understand how special, I have to take you back, back 14+ years ago. To two young girls assigned to the same P.E. class. This is me and Jenise circa '95. We were friends almost immediately and like sisters by the end of the year. I think she spent more time living at my house than at her own.

Over the last 14+ years we have had many joys, many laughs, many trials, many heartbreaks, many . . . the list is so long that if I kept going, I'd be sure to loose you before the end of this blog.

Through it all, we were there for each other. Through the boyfriends and the breakups and the new boyfriends (one set each, thank you very much) which ironically enough, the new boyfriends knew each other even though they had never gone to the same school. One of the many pleasures of living in a small town. When we each got married, we stood by each other's sides. Holding on dearly to the friendship that had started so many years earlier on the blacktop outside the gym at school.

Mike and Jenise got married on October 23, 1999 which means this Friday they will be celebrating their 10th anniversary! I rifled through what pictures I had, which weren't many, to find these little gems:

A few months ago, Jenise called me and asked if I would take some pictures of them for their anniversary. I of course was eager to do so. The shoot was going to be simple enough, nice pictures on the beach. Then a day or so later she called to say she would like me to take wedding pictures for them, because they never had wedding pictures. She was going to have her original dress sized (two kids later and she's smaller, yes, this is the moment when your allowed to hate her. Just kidding) Within hours of that call, I got another, a very excited phone call. She had found THE DRESS, not any dress, but THE DRESS she would have bought if she had had the money 10 years ago. The new plan was to take picture of her in the dress and Mike in his Class A uniform . . . on the beach. Well as time would have it and kids being kids, they wanted in on the fun. Also Jenise wanted a different location and after calling her first choice and laughing at their site fee, just to take pictures, I suggested GMR She went to their website and loved the location. I suggested that they wear casual clothes so that they could get some "normal" family pictures too.

We had a lot of fun roaming the grounds of GMR but it was time to get down to the task at hand. Everyone got ready and we started our wedding shoot . . . without the wedding. I have to say something here. We LOVE weddings! There is nothing better (in the world of Photography) then being a part of peoples most important day! But I have to say, shooting a wedding without the wedding, is SO easy! There was no timeline! We got TONS of amazing pictures so many, that it was nearly impossible to weed it down to these. I hope you guys enjoy these pictures for many years to come! Thank you for letting me be apart of your special day, AGAIN! Here is to another 10 years and more!

Christmas So Cal Style!

It's time to announce our Christmas Picture Event! Christmas So Cal Style is coming up the first weekend in November. Due to the overwhelming response that this event has generated we are hopefully going to be adding lots of days! For the first time ever we will be adding a Friday. We hope this will help with those who may not be available on the weekends. We will also be adding a Sunday if there is enough interest.

FAQS:

What is the cost?
$90 for a half hour session!

What do you get?
Well You get all of your images on a CD with the copyright release so you can print them anywhere!

Well that's a good deal, what's the catch?
The catch is not really a catch, just a fact. All of the pictures will be in color, you will not receive black and white photo's on your disk. Also this event is a FIRST call first booked event. If you want to make sure you get in this event, call! If you email or Facebook us and we don't get that message and someone calls in, well the spot goes to whoever calls first.

How many sessions can I book?
You may book as many sessions as you would like! If you would like a full hour, then you may book an hour. BUT if you pick a time and there is not an hour together, you may have to wait. That's why it's so important to call and ensure your appointment!

Who can come with me?
This session is designed for family's, couples and who ever else would like their pictures on a beautiful beach at a great price! However, if you bring additional family's with you, there is a $15 charge. They will receive their own disk and copyright release.

When is the best time of day for beach pictures?
Outdoor photography is wonderful and one of my favorite things to shoot! There are many factors when shooting outside but the most important is the weather. The optimal time of day for beach pictures is shortly before sunset. If the day is cloudy, we can shoot all day long without any issues. Of course, we won't know if it's going to be cloudy till that day. But do not worry, we can still get beautiful pictures ANY time of day! It's just being creative on our part!

I want sunset pictures, what do I do?
You be the first to call!

How many sessions are available?
We can shoot all day long, so there are lots of sessions available. If the event is successful we will add additional day(s). HOWEVER for a Saturday, we must have 5 appointments booked or a total of 2.5 hours of sessions.

How do I guarantee there are going to be enough people booked so my session holds?
All Yours Photography is a WORD OF MOUTH company. You are our greatest advertisement! Tell your friends and family! It's also a win win, when your friend or family member calls, they tell us who sent them, you get a $10 GC!

I'm a police officer, do I still get my discount?
All though All Yours Photography offers military, police and firefighter discounts, you can not use them on specialty priced events.

What beach will this take place at?
We will be heading to Wind and Sea beach in La Jolla!

What if I can't come on the days you have set aside?
If your really interested in beach photography and this date doesn't work, please book us for a regular session. Our beach photography sessions are $225 for the first hour and $75 each additional half hour. The beauty of picking your own shoot is that you pick the day, the time and the beach.

How do I pay for this event?
At All Yours Photography, we take cash, check, Visa and Mastercard! We normally do not require payment until after the shoot, but because we will be camped out on the beach for 2 or 3 days, we are requiring this event to be prepaid. IF you are running late, that time will cut into your session, so you will want to be on time or early. IF you miss your appointment and we can squeeze you in that day, we will, if we can not you will receive half of your money back in credit. This event is very popular and we want to make sure those who are really interested get thier space and due to scheduling, we can not start late for anyone because it will throw off the whole day. It takes about an hour and a half in no traffic to get to La Jolla, you will want to make sure you have enough time on picture day to get there. There is also no bathrooms on or near the beach, so you will need to stop in the town of La Jolla (at Vons, CVS or Starbucks) to use the restroom. Make sure you make time for these stops.

So how do I go about booking my session?!
You call Kammy @ 951-929-9614! You pick your day Friday Nov. 6 or Sat Nov. 7 (if there is enough interest, we will open it up on Sun Nov. 8th), pick your time of day and pay a deposit or the event in full.
